Depending on the class selection, artwork will either be functional (i.e., coasters) or decorative (i.e. woven wall hanging). Introduction to CBD and essential oils (adult)

WHEN: 9/11/19, 7-8:30pm

WHERE: Andover, MA.

WHAT: Have you always wanted to learn about the benefits of CBD oils or how to incorporate them into your lifestyle? Then this class is for you! Come alone or with a friend to share an introductory overview of CBD plus learn about the history and science behind this powerful plant compound, hear testimonials, understand the difference between THC and CBD and dive into the meaning behind Full Spectrum vs Isolate. Then get ready to really up our game with knowledge of how you can pair essential oils to customize your CBD experience and help transform your lifestyle and overall wellness.

“Introduction to modern weaving” Half day workshop (Adult)

WHEN: 11/4/19, 10-2pm

WHERE: Essex Art Center, 56 Island Street, Lawrence, MA

WHAT: Learn how to weave your own mini modern tapestry as we explore a variety of techniques using a frame lap loom and unique, luxury fibers. You will complete your own woven wall hanging full of texture and color and leave with the knowledge and resources to continue on your weaving pursuits. Be prepared to tap into your inner creativity with the captivating art of weaving.

“fiber frenzy” full day workshop (ages 11-15)

WHEN: Winter 2020, TBD

WHERE: Essex Art Center, 56 Island Street, Lawrence, MA

WHAT: In this one day workshop, students will explore a variety of fiber art techniques. Projects may include creation of a dream catcher, radial design weaving and other fiber art accessories for the home. Let’s play with fibers and create colorful artwork!

“To catch a dream” Evening Workshop (ages 8-11)

WHEN: Fall 2019, TBD

WHERE: Kidcasso Art Studio, 27 Main Street, Andover, MA.

WHAT: Each student will take home a self made dreamcatcher crafted with beautiful fibers and beading including lava rocks dripped with the aromatic blend of Valor by Young Living Essential Oils. Valor is often used by parents at bedtime to help keep their children’s bad dreams at bay.

“Modern Weaving” mini series (adult)

WHEN: 11/18/19 - 12/9/19, 1-3pm

WHERE: Essex Art Center, 56 Island Street, Lawrence, MA.

WHAT: This 4-week weaving series is designed for either beginner or intermediate students with an emphasis on weaving exploration through the use of texture, color and mixed media features. We’ll begin with instruction of basic modern weaving techniques to create a mini wall hanging and continue our exploration into other areas of weaving including the use of roving, radial looms and beading.

Beginner’s Macrame (adult)

WHEN: 9/6/19, 6:30-9pm or 9/8/19 1-3:30pm

WHERE: Gallery Z, 167 Market Street, Lowell, MA.

WHAT: Come to this beginner’s session of the age old art form of macrame! We’ll explore multiple knotting techniques and discuss the differences in approach between layered pieces and block patterning as well as strategies for materials planning. Each student will leave with a finished piece approximately 12” x 18”

intermediate modern weaving (Adult)

WHEN: 12/12/19, 10-2pm

WHERE: Essex Art Center, 56 Island Street, Lawrence, MA.

WHAT: In this course students will build upon their skills and knowledge gained in Intro to Modern Weaving. We’ll explore more advanced weaving concepts such as twining, shapes, three dimensional features and the proper technical use of negative space. Students will take home a completed woven wall hanging featuring conceptual learning across both Intro and Intermediate workshops. Prerequisite: Intro to Modern Weaving or knowledge and understanding of how to warp, weft and perform basic weaving techniques.
